How did you begin in the fashion industry?
As a PR and Graphic Design intern at Barneys New York.
On my first day I was sent on a solo mission to the Madison Avenue store to do a walk thru with Isaac Mizrahi for his upcoming event. Talk about diving in!
Where does your style inspiration come from?
Pretty much all around me. From travel & art to blogs & magazines. And of course style icons like Kate Moss, Alexa Chung & Natasha Goldenberg, to everyday women on the street. I lived in New York City for 12 years, and the women there have such a knack for eschewing trends and doing their own thing. But I love the laid back vibe of the west coast and how the women here can dress up a super casual outfit with a killer heel or bold accessory.
What can’t you live without when getting ready for an event?
Hmmm, this is a tough one. Good music always sets the mood. A little bubbly and an eyelash curler. And I am never without my Nars multiple in Maldives.
How would you wear your favorite Haney item?
The Alexis jumpsuit for sure! I would pair it with a Gianvito Rossi heel, some chandelier earrings, a messy chignon and a bright lip (Nars schiap or red square).
What is your most treasured item in your closet?
My engagement ring from Renee Lewis.
Any tips or tricks for staying chic?
Confidence and kindness. Every outfit looks better with a smile and if you’re rude or unkind, people will never remember what you were wearing. Try not to over think it, have fun. And obviously, a killer heel never hurt either;)
