Fashion Week
Fashion week is always hectic for me. And now that I have my own collection, HANEY by Mary Alice Haney, it’s even more frantic. It’s a huge juggling act managing market meetings, PR appointments, a trunk show, and finding a few moments to catch up with friends.
This year we decided to show our new collection at THE DRAWING ROOM. Emilia Fanjul and Candace Koch Postel’s beautiful space.
It was the perfect place to meet with buyers, editors and stylists.
Saturday was my first market appointment with one of my favorite women in fashion, Holly Russell from Net-a-porter. She has such an amazing eye and always picks HANEY’s best sellers.
The days were filled with appointments. I was lucky enough to have my gorgeous sister-in-law, Katelin Haney, as my model. She is our DC stylist and and makes all of my clothes look amazing.
Even with my crazy schedule, I was able to find time to go to a dinner party at my friend Meredith Melling-Burke’s house. She and Valerie Boster have recently created the fashion consulting firm called La Marque. I feel so fortunate to have both of them as advisors for HANEY.
Throughout the week, I found myself wearing my ALICE pants. I named them after my niece Alice Haney and they make me smile. They are super comfortable and have a side slit to show a little leg. I was contantly stopped on the streets of NYC and asked where I had found my pants. It’s always such a thrill to be able to say they are a HANEY! Since we are in the middle of Fall, you can wear them a few different ways and mix summer and winter. I love styling them with a sweater and sandals.
